  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Butter a square 20-cm (8-in) Pyrex baking dish.
  3. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Melt maple butter in a medium saucepan.
  5. Add dry mixture to the saucepan and stir well until all ingredients are well-coated.
  6. Beat egg in a small bowl. Add a little of the hot mixture to warm egg, then pour back into saucepan, mixing well.
  7. Press mixture into baking dish.
  8. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until top is slightly Golden. Let cool before cutting into bars.
